In PSIII I was able to create the learning environment exactly as I had always hoped. Early on I had to learn how to navigate student interpersonal needs, with such issues as grouping, learning needs, and student to teacher relationships. Fortunately by the of my practicum I believe I was able to create a safe and welcoming space for all my students. The photo on the right is one of my class list in powerschool, showing the various learning codes (green symbols) and medical needs (red symbols). For the new teacher, seeing this can be a daunting process. However, while certain individual needs must be addressed, all students can have success in creating art. This is illustrated by the photo on the left showing a great improvised scene created by students with a spectrum of learning levels, languages and cultural backgrounds, working together to create something magical.
